Planning a private Pilates class with friends or colleagues

in Oct 23, 2026

A private Pilates class gives your group a shared reason to put the phones away and spend some time moving together. It could be a birthday, a gathering with friends or a different way to bring colleagues together. Before choosing a date, a few simple decisions will help us point you towards the right studio and format.

Choose the studio first

Radiant has studios in Taunton, Woodbury near Exeter, and Hambledon in Surrey. Choose the location that works for the whole group, then tell us how many people you would like to bring. Equipment and room sizes differ between studios, so we will need to confirm that your preferred space can accommodate everyone.

Our studio location guide has addresses and parking information. Share it with the group before your visit so everyone knows where to arrive.

Decide between reformer and mat

If your group is curious about the reformer, tell us whether anyone has used one before. The instructor needs to know the group's experience to plan an appropriate session. A private class can be a chance to try something together, but you do not all need to arrive with the same confidence.

Mat Pilates is another option at Taunton and Exeter. Surrey offers reformer Pilates. If you are unsure which format would suit your group, explain what you have in mind when you enquire rather than trying to choose from the class names alone.

Tell us about your occasion

A relaxed morning with friends and a workplace gathering may need different timings. Let us know whether the Pilates class is the main event or one part of a wider day, and whether your date is fixed. Private bookings depend on instructor and studio availability, so enquire before sending confirmed invitations.

If you are interested in Reset at Woodbury as well, mention this separately. Our regular Reset sessions are communal; a Pilates group booking does not automatically include private access to the sauna and cold plunge suite.

What to include in your enquiry

  • Your preferred studio and date, plus a backup date if possible.
  • The number of people attending.
  • Whether you would prefer reformer or mat Pilates.
  • The group's previous Pilates experience.
  • Your occasion and any timing requirements.

Ask anyone who needs to discuss suitability or adjustments to contact the studio directly before the booking is confirmed. We can then establish what is possible for the session.

Prepare the group for the visit

Once your booking is confirmed, share the arrival instructions and ask everyone to bring water and wear comfortable clothing they can move in. Grip socks are required for reformer classes at Radiant. If someone is new to the studio, our first reformer class checklist is a useful place to start.

Enquire about a private session

Visit our private Pilates and studio hire page for the booking routes, then contact your chosen studio team. We will confirm availability, the appropriate format and the price before you commit.
