RADIANT PILATES

Pilates for beginners at Radiant

YOUR FIRST RADIANT CLASS

You do not need to know the equipment or recognise every exercise before you begin. Choose a class that gives you time to learn, tell your instructor it is your first visit and take it one movement at a time.

New to reformer Pilates? Start with Mindful Motion

Mindful Motion is our recommended starting point for reformer Pilates. It welcomes all levels and focuses on controlled movement, alignment and breath. Your instructor introduces the practice and guides the group through the exercises, with movement options where appropriate.

A reformer has a moving carriage, springs and straps. The springs provide resistance and support, so learning how the equipment feels is part of the first-class experience. You do not need to prepare a routine or know the exercise names.

Prefer to start on a mat?

Mat Method Sculpt is an all-levels option focused on breath, alignment and controlled full-body movement. Mat classes are available at Taunton and Exeter; Surrey offers reformer Pilates. If you want to try HOT, begin with Sculpt or Strong first to become familiar with the movement before adding the heated setting.

Choose your studio

  • Taunton, Somerset: reformer, mat and tower Pilates at Coates English Willow in Stoke St Gregory.
  • Woodbury, Exeter: reformer and mat Pilates at Woodbury Business Park, near Exmouth.
  • Hambledon, Surrey: small group reformer Pilates at The Old Coal Yard, near Godalming.

Use the local timetable to check current class names, times and availability. Our locations page explains addresses and parking.

Book and prepare

Choose your class and review the current payment options in Momence. If you purchase an intro pack, book your sessions separately afterwards. Sign into the Momence app using the same email address to manage your bookings.

Arrive 5–10 minutes early, bring water and wear comfortable exercise clothing. Grip socks are required for reformer classes: no socks, no reformer. Allow extra time if you need to buy a pair at the studio.

Need help choosing?

Contact your studio in advance if you are pregnant, returning after birth or need to discuss an injury, health condition or other support. The team can explain the studio requirements and help you find the appropriate next step. Read the full FAQs or contact your local team.
